Welcome to Storey.org.uk ("Storey", "we", "us", or "our"), a digital life planning and legacy platform designed to help you organise important information, documents, memories, and wishes in one secure place.

By accessing or using Storey.org.uk, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.

1. About Storey Storey provides tools that allow users to organise and store personal information such as contacts, accounts and assets, documents, memories, messages, and planning information including Advance Care Plans, Funeral Wishes, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and Wills. Storey is a planning and organisation tool and does not provide legal, medical, or financial advice.
2. Eligibility You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use Storey. By using the platform, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
3. Platform features
   1. Contacts and trusted people
   2. Accounts, assets, and important documents
   3. Memories, including photos, audio, and video
   4. Messages and letters for loved ones
   5. Planning tools such as Advance Care Plans, Funeral Wishes, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and Wills
   6. Inactive Account Managers (continuity access)
   7. Optional AI-assisted onboarding and in-account guidance
4. User responsibilities
   1. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
   2. You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the information you choose to store.
   3. You must not upload content that is unlawful, harmful, misleading, or infringes the rights of others.
   4. You must not attempt to misuse, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to the platform.
5. Your content All content you upload or create on Storey remains yours. By using the platform, you grant Storey a limited licence to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.
6. Inactive Account Managers Storey allows you to nominate one or more Inactive Account Managers. This feature is designed to support continuity of access if you become unable to manage your account yourself.
   1. Activation
      Inactive Account Manager access is triggered only after a period of account inactivity, as defined within your account settings. Before access is granted, you will be notified and given an opportunity to prevent activation.
   2. Access level
      Inactive Account Managers are granted read-only access to your account. They cannot edit, delete, or add content unless explicitly stated otherwise within the platform.
   3. User control
      You remain in full control of this feature. You may disable inactive access or remove an Inactive Account Manager at any time.
   4. User responsibility
      You are responsible for ensuring that any Inactive Account Manager you nominate is appropriate and trustworthy. Storey is not responsible for how an Inactive Account Manager uses information once lawful access has been granted.
7. AI-assisted features Some features of Storey use AI-assisted technology to provide guidance, onboarding support, and contextual assistance. These features are designed to help you understand and navigate the platform. They do not replace professional advice and should not be relied upon as such.
8. Free and paid plans
   1. Free plan
      Storey offers a free plan that remains available for the lifetime of your account. Free accounts are not time-limited.
   2. Paid plans
      Optional paid plans unlock additional features. Pricing and billing terms are displayed clearly at the time of purchase.
   3. Downgrades and cancellations
      If a paid subscription ends, your account will revert to the free plan. Paid-only features may become unavailable, but your core account and stored data will remain accessible.
9. Account availability and longevity Storey is designed for long-term use, but uninterrupted or perpetual availability cannot be guaranteed. We recommend keeping independent copies of critical documents and information.
10. Privacy and data protection Our collection and use of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
11. Suspension and termination We may suspend or terminate access to the platform if you breach these Terms, use the service unlawfully, or pose a risk to Storey or other users. Where reasonably possible, we will provide notice.
12. Third-party services Storey may integrate or link to third-party services. We are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices.
13. Limitation of liability Storey is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for any loss or damage arising from use of the platform, except where such exclusion is not permitted by law.
14. Indemnity You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Storey from any claims or losses arising from your misuse of the platform or breach of these Terms.
15. Governing law These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
16. Changes to these Terms We may update these Terms from time to time. Any significant changes will be communicated clearly on the website or within the platform.
