Inactive Account Managers

Plan ahead for a time when you may be unable to access your Storey account — without giving up control today.

Inactive Account Managers allow you to nominate trusted people who can gain read-only access to your account if you become inactive. It’s designed to protect your information while ensuring nothing important is lost when it matters most.

How inactive access works

  • You choose trusted people Add one or more contacts as inactive account managers from your settings.
  • Access is requested, not automatic If an inactive account manager requests access, you’ll be notified immediately.
  • You have a 24-hour safeguard You can cancel or disable the request during this window with a single action.
  • Read-only access only If no action is taken, access is granted after 24 hours — but nothing can be edited, changed, or deleted.
  • You stay in control Access can be revoked at any time by disabling the feature or updating the contact.

What they can see

Accounts & assets

View your stored accounts, assets, and notes — clearly organised and easy to understand.

Important documents

Read-only access to uploaded and generated documents such as Wills, LPAs, and funeral wishes.

Important contacts

See who matters, how they’re connected, and why they’re relevant.

Memories & messages

View journal entries and sentiments exactly as you’ve written them.

Inactive account managers can never edit your information, send messages, or make decisions on your behalf.

Important requirements

To ensure access works securely and smoothly, every inactive account manager must have:

  • A valid email address Used for notifications and secure access verification.
  • A valid phone number Required for identity confirmation and added security.

If either detail is missing, access cannot be granted.

Set it up in minutes

Adding an inactive account manager is quick, optional, and fully reversible. It’s there for peace of mind — not because anything is expected to happen.
